Get this very special limited edition Clan MacFarlane t-shirt that commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the reformation of the International Clan MacFarlane Society at Grandfather Mountain, USA in 1973.

Back Design

The back of the shirt is a beautiful design that displays the Heraldic Arms of the International Clan MacFarlane Society – the modern day Clan MacFarlane.  The Society Arms were granted by the Court of the Lord Lyon in the year 2000. The Arms are comprised of the demi savage upon a helm, holding a sprig of cranberries (the Clan MacFarlane plant badge) and brandishing a sword above a shield of a red engrailed saltire and four roses (a reference to the Earls of Lennox from whom the MacFarlanes have descended), and a globe surrounded by a black chain (symbolising the unification of the MacFarlanes globally).  The heraldry is laid upon a bed of thistles and garnished by a relief of cranberries. Top and bottom captions with the location of the event below.

Front Design

The front of the shirt has a design at the pocket area that depicts the original MacFarlane Clansman’s Crest Badge originally awarded to Andrew MacFarlane of that Ilk, in 1568 for Valor at the Battle of Langside.  Emblazoned on the bottom banner are the dates of all Clan MacFarlane formations and reformations:

• 1263 – The Battle of Largs – The Sons of Pàrlan helped defend Scotland and their home territory from Norwegian invasion
• 1568 – The Battle of Langside – Clan’s original crest and motto awarded
• 1911 – The Formation of An Comunn Chloinn Phàrlan in Edinburgh & London (the original Clan MacFarlane Society)
• 1973 – The Reformation of the Clan MacFarlane Society as the International Clan MacFarlane Society at Grandfather Mountain
