PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL TWILIGHT TATTOO
Enjoy the sights and sounds of Scotland with this outdoor concert under the stars!
The military tattoo tradition evolved from 17th century Europe when a drummer or bugler would sound a call through the village, signaling the soldiers’ return to barracks. The Dutch innkeepers would shout DOE DEN TAP TOE – “turn off the taps!” This phrase later became anglicized to “tap toe” and then “tattoo.”
Many of the beating retreat and evening color ceremonies performed by military forces around the world share a common heritage to this origin.
Join us on Friday March 3rd as our international cast exceeding 100 performers treat you to a dazzling display of drill, pageantry, and music that will transport you from the Valley of the Sun to the Highlands, Islands, & Beyond!
Gates will open at 5 PM to enjoy pre-show entertainment, vendors, food and drink.
Tattoo performance – 7 :00 PM to 8:45 PM
